About Kisan Shikshan Sanstha, Walwa

The contribution of ‘Parallel-Government has been registered as the golden page in the history of Indian Freedom Struggle against British reign. Our college is established as a live monument of Late Krantisinh Nana Patil who had been the great pioneer of Parallel-Govt. during Indian Freedom Movement. The founder of Kisan Shikshan Sanstha, Krantiveer Nagnath Anna Nayakawadi served as the efficient commander of National FreedomMovement of 1942 led by Krantisinh Nana Patil. This Govt. retained the awareness of social obligation in Satara district. As a part of it Krantisinh Nana Patil eradicated burglary, unlicensed money-lending, dowry system and superstitions. He also inspired for Gandhian marriage system and volanuntary schools in remote hilly area which were instituted by the volunteer of Parallel-Govt.

Krantiveer Nagnath Anna opened 80 schools in those days, because he had realized that unless and until the rural people get educated, the national social movement won’t be strengthened. Consequently, he established, ‘Kisan Shikshan Sanstha Walwa’, with a view that an education is a means of awakening people at social and economical level. This establishment proved itself revolutionary in Walwa where educational and economical complex has been flourished. This land is also considered as the motherland of many economical and cultural experiments as it has given birth to different movements and struggles. ‘Kisan Shikshan Sanstha’ was founded in 1949 with opening of secondary school in Walwa. This highschool, ‘ Hutatma Kisan Ahir Vidyalaya Walwa’, a live monument was named in the honour of Late Kisan Ahir ( a close associate of Krantiveer Nagnath Anna Nayakawadi) who became martyr in the armed freedom struggle against British rule. This school opened the opportunity of secondary education for pupils from rural and distant area. Though there was no financial support, the school-building was constructed by collecting contribution from people as well as by labour-donation. The ideal sugar factory in India ‘Hutatma Kisan Ahir Co-operative Sugar Factory Ltd. Walwa’ was founded by the teachers in the school.

Kisan Shikshan Sanstha, launched and executed the co-operative sugarIndustry as a new experiment successfully. It commenced a hostel with free lodging & boarding facility for poor and down-trodden students. It has been named as ‘Hutatma Nanaksingh Hostel’. Nanaksingh, the son of Punjab and coach of armed regiment of Parallel Govt., became the martyr along with Hutatma Kisan Ahir. Thus students from Nomadic Tribes like Paradhi, Nandiwale took the benefits of this hostel facility. It was difficult to run such hostel school on no-grant basis but not impossible, because those institutes were entirely relied on the contribution of people who believed in the work of Krantiveer Nagnath Anna Nayakawadi.
